We have a range of beginner options available to suit everyone, benefit from one to one lessons from experienced, qualified coaches who specialise in introducing people to wakeboarding.

With all our beginner lessons the equipment is included within the price, all you need to bring is a towel and swimming costume. Unless you have your own kit, which you are welcome to bring.
Lockers, changing rooms & showers are all available on site.
LESSONS AVAILABLE FOR 6+
LEARN BEHIND A BOAT
Our most recommended beginner experience suitable for ages 6+. With a group size of 1 - 6 people.
Learning behind a boat is the perfect introduction to wake boarding or waterskiing, with one to one coaching from an experienced instructor on a private lake.
Our coaches will run the lesson completely at your pace. With a 4 stage structured course including;

A land lesson, to introduce you to the basics.

A lesson on a boom, on the side of the boat close to your instructor.

A short line behind the boat, making it as easy as possible to get up.

A long line, finish the course out behind the boat and process onto crossing the wakes!
Learning behind the boat is perfect for anyone who is looking for rapid progress, a tailored experience or anyone who is a little nervous to take to the water.
Each lesson is scheduled at 30 minutes per person.
We always insists a beginner has 30 minutes in total to ensure they can enjoy the full experience. Everyone learning with Thorpe Lakes will be provided with follow up instruction after each lesson and a suggested plan moving forward to support their progression.

LEARN ON OUR STRAIGHT LINE CABLE
A great cost effective way to take to the water. Suitable for 11+ with group sizes of 1 - 4 people.
Learning on the Straight Line Cable is ideal for anyone looking to become a competent Cable Wakeboarder or anyone struggling with the corners on the main cable.
Each beginner session lasts 30 minutes with a dedicated instructor during the lesson.
Your instructor will offer advise after each lesson whether you are ready for the main cable or if you are best to continue your progression on the Straight Line Cable.
